While I am not a rescue I work with MANY of them and foster for Two of the best...and I echo this same message from one I do foster for. I feel her and others frustration at being tagged on Urgent dogs. Working for RMO I see 100s of animals per day that need saved and we POST them already! I am also RARELY on my personal page for long and its RARELY going to be me tagging people in Urgents. Its special occassions or sharing something from RMO or the Rescues I foster for. So PLEASE dont tag my personal page either. If you have pictures/all info on a dog, and you have ALREADY verified Rescue Me Ohio hasnt posted it. Then you can send it to me via message and I will see about posting it! Thanks in advance. Signed: Overwhelmed & as frustrated as you are. * The following IS from a Rescue: I am asking that you please refrain from tagging me in anymore URGENT DOG posts.......and let me explain why. 1) I already know about all the urgent dogs in need, most of the shelter I work with keep us update via email or group pages. Rescues know about the urgents before anyone else. 2) Im not sitting here enjoying my life thinking Hmmmmm nobody is tagging me in urgent pit bull pictures so NO pit bulls must need rescued. 3) Most of us in this area anyway are not VILLALOBOS we do not have a kennel facility to house 200 + dogs when adopters bail, fosters bail and to run a hospice. Many of us operate out of our homes and strictly use foster homes. In the best case scenarios a recently pulled dog out of a shelter should go into a foster home as the only foster so they get the time, attention and training they will need to be adopted. 4) Believe it or not fosters are not lining up with open arms waiting to take in more dogs......most have their own family pets, husbands, wives, kids etc. It is very hard to find fosters that will remain committed to see a dog thru NO MATTER WHAT........things happen, life happens some dogs are adopted quickly some dogs are in rescue for over a year. We do not know the length of time you will be fostering. 5) every time a foster can no longer foster the dog that was pulled for them to foster we have to have a back up plan. It does no good for the dog to be stuck into a boarding kennel. They do not get the time, attention or training that they need. Not to mention the fact that most kennels that will board for rescues at a cheap price are not the best places for these dogs to have to live. 6) when you tag us in an urgent post do you realize we get thousands of notifications with every little stupid comment on that dog?? Oh someone save her I would but I already have 2 large dogs Where are the rescues......she has $500 in sponsorship ( heres a newsflash......most of the time rescues only receive about half of the sponsorship money if were lucky). 7) IN ORDER FOR RESCUES TO PULL MORE DOGS WE NEED FOSTERS END OF STORY.........STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE AND INSTEAD OF TAGGING ME IN A PICTURE SEND ME A MESSAGE AND SAY YES I WILL FOSTER FOR THE LENGTH OF TIME IT TAKES FOR THEM TO BE ADOPTED. 8) I am well aware of the dogs that need saved from euthanasia in shelters...........when my rescue has an open foster home we will save a dog. SO FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT TAG ME ANY MORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
