While I appreciated that the local meeting is willing to provide a sign language interpreter so that I can have the accessibility to the group discussion, it still falls upon the deaf consumers responsibility to cancel the interpreter 24 hours ahead of time, but it is all right for anyone to miss the meeting, but for the deaf consumer, it is NOT okay to miss any meeting because then they have to pay for interpreter. I had something that came up at last minute and I could not avoid it so I missed the meeting, so the leader had to notify me that I must cancel 24 hours ahead of time. That is where I felt injustice. It made me resentful and stressed out so I cancel going to the meetings. Any thoughts/comments on this.
