While Im a sassy little thing, and tough, Im really a softie on a lot of things. Now, the bar that literally is located across the street from my house, I may go to once or twice a month. I go to get out of my house and away from a stifling situation with my subletter (that is on his last warning.) So, I was sitting, listening to music, and all I could hear above the music I picked from the jukebox was some guy going on and on about this MLM business (he was loud... really loud.) He kept saying that he couldnt say what it was. He kept dong his prospect talk to the guy he was sitting next to, and then tried it on the bartender until she clearly looked uncomfortable. So, while I dont do this (Ive gone enough to Poplar Place that I know the gals bar-tending), I turned toward him and asked, So whats this wonderful business? He said, I cant tell you, but I can give you a website. I replied, Well, were in a bar, and Im a busy woman who builds websites and consults website owners, so unless you can tell me what you do, then Ill call bullshit on your business. I get that youre fired up. I know, Ive been around MLM growing up, but damn, youre loud, and if you actually paid attention, even your buddy and the kind bartender are uncomfortable. He finally stopped yapping about his mysterious business. Lesson: People are too drunk to want to be prospected at a bar at night time. They just are there to either relax or have fun... or both.
