While Im not generally a very sentimental person, I have always believed that everyone should love the way they look. This commercial sums up my concerns pretty well. You notice around age 12, girls start hating cameras. They grow up seeing pictures of models and actresses after hours of hair and make up being done, and they think anything other than that is unacceptable. They grow up watching TV with commercials for all kinds of make up. Nobody is born pretty, its just Maybelline. So much weight is put on aesthetics in our society that we forget about the important things. Substance; Personality, intelligence. Learning to love yourself before others. If someone says there is something wrong with you, we are told we need to change ourselves. Why dont you change the people around you, and keep you the way you are. (This does not apply if you are an asshole.) From lipstick to breast implants, I have met very few girls my age that are happy with the way they look. Stop asking What makes me ugly? And dont ask What makes me beautiful, either. Ask yourself, What makes me awesome? Because youre born with it.
