While at the fair today, I watched a FRANTIC mom run to the - TopicsExpress

While at the fair today, I watched a FRANTIC mom run to the Guardian tent where law enforcement had set up base to handle the fair crowd. Her young daughter had become lost from her and her family. The mom, crying uncontrollably and completely beside herself had been searching the immense crowds for her little girl. Her husband, who was already at the tent with their young boys and had given the information to the police, ran to his wife to deliver the good news that the police had located her and was bringing her back to the safety of her parents. Suddenly the immediate crowd started clearing as the HERO of the day came walking up carrying the young girl in his arms. The mother ran to the officer, taking her daughter from his arms and cried as she embraced her daughter. The whole scene that had just unfolded in front of me brought tears to my eyes, because I had once been where that mother had been. I am sure many mothers know exactly what that awful, frightening emotion of not knowing where or WHO has your child, feels like. Its one that changes you, forever. My reason for this post is that law enforcement gets bashed so often by the people they are sworn to protect. Yet, when something happens, who do they turn to? Law enforcement dont think of themselves as HEROES. They will tell you they are just doing their job. But, I guarantee you that mother will tell you that officer who found her daughter IS a HERO. (Kent Bankston, Meal Team Six are on the job. Thank you all for what you do.).
