While by his side his own Cantering Hand, Second only to him in - TopicsExpress

While by his side his own Cantering Hand, Second only to him in arms and prestige, Beheld the underground clamor then spoke, “My lord, what plans do we hold for the Siege? For nine of the months our Legion has held, And tormented the People King, though twice crowned. In his bid to restrain our Arms in our Lands, He stands defeated, and so also in, His aim to strengthen his cursed Tribe, With the foreign horde. We stand supreme, Our strongholds drawn with cunning intent, Against attack from our numerous foes. Yet now in our bid for the final blow, To strike the Law of the People King, We find ourselves blocked, in Siege eternal, Seizing his coffers yet short of our aim, The King in his Oval Chamber stands strong, The hated Reed Chief guarding his flank, And worst of all, the Silenced One stands, Cold in the shadows while plotting revenge, For the rout that brought us our present reign, And you your hammer. What curious times! To lay Siege yet lie trapped, yet here we lie. What news of the King, now that you return, From parley? Answer, that I may obey!"
