While chatting with a friend tonight, I expressed disbelief that Maureens page continues to get more likes each week. Most of the people who have liked the page are people we have never met. It seems silly to be excited over such things, but I know that Maureen would have been ecstatic to check the counts. (When I posted the You Tube video of her discovering that we had bought her Justin Bieber tickets, she was thrilled at the number and would inquire about it.) Many have stated that the posts are the way they begin or end their day. That she brings a smile to them. That she reminds them to cherish life and their loved ones. That our grief helps them with theirs. Whatever the reason, we are grateful that you tolerate our need to share, read faithfully, and ultimately let her spirit live on. For someone who loved life so much, it just doesnt seem fair for her to only get nine years. My friend told me that she still has work to do, and this is her work. If you will recall, she did want to be famous after all. (For those who dont get the famous comment, I referenced it in my remarks at her funeral.) When we posted the Justin Bieber ticket video, several told me that they loved the video. Since so many had never met her, it was a wonderful moment to experience her in video instead of just pictures. After scouring my computer, I have stumbled upon some of the videos we had taken of her. I am unable to express in words how elated I was to discover them. This video is from her 8th birthday party at Inca Lanes. Her sweet cake was made by our dear friend, Simply Sweet Creations by Liz, and she was simply overjoyed that so many of her friends attended. (Her signed bowling pin is still in her room.) She doesnt say anything (except right at the end to yell at her brother who tried to snag her candle), but I just love the look on her face. I pray that her wish came true!
