While donations continued to be received by SVSG for the mother requiring treatment in New Zealand for cancer, the latest being Crystal Tikeri from Australia remitting donation via Digicel’s Mobile Money, we have been informed by the cancer patient’s husband that his wife’s radiation treatments are progressing well at the Mercy Hospital. Out of total donations of $2,481.00 received from the local and international community, SVSG was able to pay for the patient’s airfare of $1,645.00 with the balance of $836.00 to assist with the patient’s transport costs from Mangere (where she currently resides) to Mercy Hospital for her treatments. The patient’s husband signed over the financial report today at SVSG’s office detailing the community’s financial assistance. Thank you so much Samoa as well as SVSG’s international supporters for your prayers and continuous support. To those of you who have participated in the Ice Challenge 2014, thank you for choosing to support the evacuation of this cancer patient. “Samoa Victim Support Group would not be able to be of assistance to our people without your support”. Lina Chang And as our cancer patient is undergoing treatment in New Zealand, SVSG President once again appeals to our people to remember her always in your prayers, for a speedy recovery so that she can soon return home to her husband and children. #SVSG #MAKINGADIFFERENCE #BETHECHANGE
