I just saw the most interesting conversation on the history - TopicsExpress

I just saw the most interesting conversation on the history channel It took place among six men, who think that our most pressing problem as a nation and also as a world, is lack of clean water. We are running out of clean water. The next most pressing was the economic system, particularly our banking system. They also agreed with, what I had been thinking for a few years and had discussed it with my son Matthew. I called it isolationism. They called it relocalization. I like their term better. It means to get food and other every day necessities from the area, where you live. Most of the food that we eat at any given time usually comes from 1400 miles away. If there was a shortage of food , we could be in a better position if we grow, buy, and eat food in our local area, probably healthier too. If we manufactured and sold tools, clothes, and as many daily necessities as possible to our own community. We would be safer in any crisis. With the diminishing of clean water comes bacteria and eventually plagues that were prevalent in the past. I did not see the whole program, but enough to see that they think, as I, that we need to buy and sell locally. We need to buy American Made, because no other country has stricter regulations than America. America cares about protecting its citizens. I understand that the popular theory is a global community theory, but I think that we should bring our men and women in the armed forces home and protect our own country. I believe however that we should always come to Israels aid, or any Christian country that asks for help. There is no cut and dried solution, and energy is a tremendous problem in America. Because we are so far advanced, we need tremendous amounts of energy. Natural energy sources, such as wind, water, and sun should be seriously considered. We are also a wasteful nation. Last night we discussed how almost forty percent of prepared foods in America are thrown away. All school personnel know how much GOOD FOOD is wasted each day, and there seems to be no solution to that problem. I can say from experience that things made in other countries, such as China, are second class and rarely work properly and not for very long. There has to be an answer! I remember when my Dad would buy NOTHING unless it was MADE IN AMERICA!. We can start by supporting our local farmers and merchants.
