While listening to this excellent example of how a teacher should be, note the classroom environment...the desk arrangement, the walls, the array of supplies, the type of desk which allows for storage, the filled bookshelf etc. This is what Im accustomed to in a classroom and what I want and prefer for my own children. People can talk chalk about the U.S, but you cannot fault them on having PUBLIC SCHOOLS with classrooms like this available for those who seek them. The Barbados Ministry of Education needs to do better and so do parents who do not have the funds to send their kids to private schools who offer this type of learning environment. I,again, have to thank Gale Jones for giving me the foundation I had. We were not rich but she made it her business to find out which schools in New York offered a quality education, even if it meant I had to go farther from home to get it. When Bajans start demanding and expecting that the MIn. of Ed delivers quality education at every school in every classroom, we will stop having teachers who think its ok to strike because a principal dares to demands them to teach and a ministry who does NAFFIN about it.
