While the U.S. has its own dynastic family names—Kennedy, Bush and Clinton—none match the depth of Indias family ties. A British historian in a 2011 study found that two-thirds of Indias national parliamentarians under 40 were related to other politicians. And voters here have grown increasingly suspicious that such family networks use policy-making and executive authority to enrich themselves and their protégés. Well, thats the purpose of government. The alternative is liberty--no ruler.
