At last, starting in July, 2014, the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act of 2008 will take effect requiring insurers to treat mental health and addiction recovery as they would other medical needs. 90% of people with mental health and substance abuse disorders have gone without treatment. Everyone of us has experienced this problem with loved ones or friends, Thank goodness some relief is in sight.
