While tourism operators and some national tourism boards are - TopicsExpress

While tourism operators and some national tourism boards are starting to see the hugh potential in accessible tourism, it would seem that the retail networks are not. While this article relates to online agencies, the same would be true for the traditional bricks and mortar operators. To date Flight Centre Canada is the only agency chain that has adopted Accessible Tourism as a centre of excellence and yet they have not applied that learning to their operations anywhere else in the world. With competition rife between online and traditional agencies you would think someone would invest in Accessible Tourism as a point of competitive advantage. ABTA member Flight Centre makes no mention whatsoever of information for passengers with disabilities. We surfed every corner of the Flight Centre website and found no information for travellers with special needs. Ironically, FlightCentre.co.uk is a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Charity which grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions. reducedmobility.eu/20130801348/The-News/all-but-two-uk-online-travel-agents-fail-disability-compliance-test.html
