While visiting Zoo Miami today, I was asked to help identify a spinytail iguana that has been in their collection since 2010. The Iguana in question was a male Ctenosaura quinquecarinata, the 5 keeled spinytail iguana. The Zoo Miami staff were more than happy to take me behind the scenes to help them identify this beautiful iguana. Although we do not currently own ctenosaura quinquecarinata, The Iguana Laboratory has worked with the species in the past and hopes to acquire legally collected or captive bred animals such as the one seen here in photos in the near future!
