Whilst enjoying my coffee earlier on, I marvelled at how they market this stuff!! My favourite is Columbian....Tescos does the best tasting...and it IS what they describe it as.......mellow and nutty....strength3 which is mediumish..... and just plain delicious! But recently I have tried 2 other types of Columbian ground roast coffee and heres how they brands talk it up.... >:o let me just preface this with saying that I am quite good at getting these flavours they rant about in wines.....but read on.... TAYLORS of Harrogate.....Bright and aromatic with a hint of blackcurrant - strength 4....should be quite strong but doesnt taste it, though it isnt bad! But is this wine or coffee, for goodness sake!!! Oh!....and I didnt detect ANY blackcurrant - thank goodness. I dont WANT fruit in my coffee, dammit! MORRISONS supermarket....Signature brand....which are usually pretty good but as I havent yet opened this one I will have to let you know....but I am looking forward to it...... Rich, sweet, roast and ground coffee with a mellow, chocolatey flavour.. Mmmmmm.... The last one I just finished yesterday was also TESCOs Finest......the equivalent of MOrrisons Signature , and called Columbian Supremo.....apparently sweet and fruity....strength 3. Hmmm...cant say I agree. It was pretty indifferent. Before that I had a change with Morrisons Signature Ethiopian Mocha.....deliciously nutty and chocolatey.....well I guess it was that. But not good enough to buy again definitely. So if you are a coffee freak like me, its a bit of a minefield buying stuff that you like. I get easily bored hence changing so often.....otherwise I guess I would stick to Tescos everyday Columbian blend....AND it is the least expensive of the lot!!! In the interests of economy I may just do that!!! LOL
