Whiskey Creek Lodge Update. Day 4, 1 6pt and 1 8pt. Harvested so far. A few does and fawns spotted but over all REALLY slow. Less then a dozen shots heard in the whole area. However there is NO shortage of wolf tracks. We figure we have at least 2 if not 3 packs working the area. Over all a disappointing open. ( personal thoughts--- next time a 612er tells me that wolf season should be stopped or put off for 5 yrs because there is only 2200 in the whole state Im going drag them up to the north forty and leave them. Also if the DNR says the our area population of deer can with stand the issue of Doe permits, they need to get out in the field more then sitting behind a desk. Just saying ) Ill report on the Hunt again later. Tell then remember becareful out there.
