White Hummingbird!! Have you ever seen a leucistic bird in your yard? Watch this video from Jamie Critzer. It shows a leucistic Ruby-throated Hummingbird!! A leucistic bird does not produce pigments in its feathers at a normal level or in a normal pattern. A total lack of pigment is referred to as being albino (white), a partial loss of pigment is called leucistic. The color patterns can be the result of injury, poor nutrition or a genetic imbalance.
