Who Are You Connected To? Don’t be fooled: “Bad friends will ruin good habits. 1 Corinthians 15:33 ERV “Consider carefully what you hear…with the measure you “use it”, it will be measured to you, and even more.” As God increases your responsibility (watch it now) you must live at a higher level of accountability. He requires more of you. You must be more disciplined, more focused, more resolved, and more dedicated than ever. Hes ready for you to have what He says you can have; do what He says you can do; and become who He says you can become. This requires breaking away (don’t miss IT) from everything that impedes your progress. By breaking away, Im not just talking about a physical departure. God wants much more from you than that. He wants you to break free in your mind too. If the truth be told there are some people and things youre still holding on to, that God wants you to let go of (I hear my Pastor, bshp, rev, OG FBP Jonathan Bryant “Ctrl, Alt, Del)”. Although you may not be physically in the same place, if youre not mentally, emotionally, and spiritually free, youre still stuck. Listen, who you connect to you become accountable to…HmMMmmmM… theres no way you can take everything and everybody to your place of promise...ShhooT. Every connection is not a God connection. Every relationship is not a wholesome relationship. Many times, we make the mistake of thinking that we can remain attached, yet be, unattached. Does that make any sense? Association breeds assimilation. You become what and who you spend most of your time with. Check your surroundings. If your influences are the opposite of who you want to become, you have to make some changes. You have to be willing to clear your space... mentally and physically. You must understand that, anything that has a hold on your mind, has a hold on you. As you close yourself off to the things that are not of God, Hell open up the windows of heaven and pour out His goodness. If youre ready for that, youre going to have to endure a season of sacrifice. Take comfort in knowing that, whatever and whomever you lose in the process of submitting to His will, Hell replenish a hundred fold! I dont want you to focus on what it looks like right now. Trust me, looks can be deceiving. The Lord is doing something supernatural. All He wants you to do is prepare. Once you make up in your mind to release extraneous people and things from your life, distractions will come from everywhere! The enemy will use anything and anyone to get you off course. But dont let Him rob you of what God has in store for you. Disconnect yourself from the distractions, and focus on your destiny. “Where I am is not where I am, its just where I am. There is a Word that is spoken over our lives that cannot fail! Prayer/Confession: Gracious God and Father, thank You for provoking me to examine the people, things and places I have allowed myself to be connected to and to examine if they are a distraction in my life. Father, I will disconnect myself from every ungodly tie; I will lay aside the weights in my life that are slowing me down from being all that You have ordained me to be. Father, thank You for giving me the wisdom to identify and the courage to let go and the patience to wait on You to replace.
