Who am I in Christ? ( Bible study) youtube/watch?v=DDDlxmsciqY youtube/watch?v=vg5qDljEw7Q youtube/watch?v=ihSxgSQalis youtube/watch?v=WFgAnhHhesk Hello everyone! Bible study time again. I hope your all having a good blessed week. Who am I in Christ? Who are you in Christ? May sound strange, but it’s a good question. Not a day goes by that someone doesn’t tell me how to be me “in Christ” Most of the time they are telling me how to be them in what they think Christ is. But do you know, the same type of people tried to do this to Jesus Himself? Let’s have a look. Matthew 12:9-14 Healing on the Sabbath Now when He had departed from there, He went into their synagogue. 10 And behold, there was a man who had a withered hand. And they asked Him, saying, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?”—that they might accuse Him. 11 Then He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out? 12 Of how much more value then is a man than a sheep? Therefore it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.” 13 Then He said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And he stretched it out, and it was restored as whole as the other. 14 Then the Pharisees went out and plotted against Him, how they might destroy Him. Look at this! Jesus healed a sick person on the Sabbath. But the religious do gooders wanted to accuse Him of breaking the Sabbath. In their self-righteous mind, He had worked on the Sabbath. What really tickles me about this, is all the miracles that Jesus preformed, Jesus merely had to say it and it happened. All the Jews talked on the Sabbath back then and all the Jews talk on the Sabbath to this day. In modern day times, you can call this a double standard or a hypocrite. But the truth be said, “people” will always look for a way to drag another person down. And when the other person, is doing a good job, well then “people” start imposing their views and rules, that no one including “people” live up to. And I will add, it’s rules and standards that God never asked you to live up to. So what are we to do with these “people”? Are we to follow their misguided path to appease them? Of course not! You point out that they are wrong and if it’s possible to talk with them, talk with them. But if their whole point in life, is to tear you down, tear down your faith, or attack God, via attacking you, then depart from them. Because they are the unhealthy person who does not want to be well, but wants you to be sick and miserable with them. The world is full of this type of person. In every walk of life, on every street corner and in every topic of conversation. To quote one of the greatest pastors, I have ever enjoyed the teachings of, Pastor Dave Carver, “People do not show up to share in your joy, people show up to drag you down to their misery.” I don’t know about you, but I’m gonna be like Jesus, I’m not gonna be dragged down! In concluding tonight, if you’re doing something that is good, even as simple as sharing a good positive message with other human beings, someone is gonna show up to tell you how wrong you are. And the truth of the matter is, in their eyes you are wrong, because you are not living in misery like them. This type of person you can only pray for, because this type of person is only happy in misery. Until next week, God Bless and Good knight. As always, if you’re in need in prayer, just let me or Kit know, we are happy to pray with you or for you. Anything I have said tonight has opened your eyes to God’s Grace and you feel the need for a first prayer of acceptance repeat this with me then: Lord, God, Father, forgive me for what I have done, I see now that my price was paid on the cross, by your will, through Christ Jesus. Jesus walk with me the rest of my days here on earth. Send the Holy Spirit to teach me and comfort me and Lord, for the first time ever I get to say, “In Jesus name” Amen! youtube/watch?v=GEFPAoKbPmg
