Who am I rooting for? and you just think Im gonna quickly say GO BRONCOS.. without telling you how to make the watch..? ha. Once I became a runner at MCHS, I pretty much stopped following pro sports...except, of course, the sacred team of Detroit....the Tigers. I competed in college.. and had roommates and fraternity brothers (Sigma Chi) that were runners, football players, gymnasts,.. one was even the All Time Leading Scorer on CMUs basketball team...Paul Botts. But I still could not give a flip about pro sports..even after moving to Denver in 76. Once when taking a P.E. graduate class in Colorado...the buzz in class was all about a Bronco running back by the name of Otis Armstrong...who I eventually met and we would run into each other all the time at the store. But what made it funny was..I was in a P.E. class with all these no-neck jock types...sitting around grunting..I raised my hand and asked..Who is Otis Armstrong? They were convinced I was an imposter...not know who OT was? How did I get into this class? Or worse yet, be allowed to teach Physical Education. Then I got the chance to go to a Bronco game in 78? It was a December game in Denver.. we had seats in about the 10th row..lower deck..on the east side of the field..IN THE SUN. I think the Broncos won..regardless, I sat in the sun, in DECEMBER..drinking Coors Beer..watched how much the fans loved this sacred team of Denver.. and got a sun burn..it had an orange glow. On that day, I became a forever fan of the DENVER BRONCOS. Then as fate would have it, a linebacker named Bill Romanowski became my back-door neighbor...#53 ..the bad boy linebacker for Denver. (Hes not what you may think, off the field..we would spend time talking about hunting...dogs.. and he and his wife were so gracious to my family..his gift of a beautiful Black Lab who I named Duchess, after his male named Duke, has just barked her way to that big dog house in the sky). Thru Bill, I got to know #6 QB Bubbie Brister, #1 Kicker Jason Elam, a special friend and also LB, Steve Russ #58... also a speed coach, and former Michigan resident, Randy Huntington. All brought a new type of friendship and perspective into my life. Thanks guys!!! Anyway, yup..GO BRONCOS.. heres hoping for an Orange sunset in Denver...(what? .. you didnt know HEs a Bronco fan too?...haha)
