Who embodies the Australian spirit? Two people straight off the top of my head demonstrate the Australian spirit of giving it your all...Ben Robert-Smith and Brent Tate...Adversity, courage, and determination...but hey, I was born here, am a 5th generation Australian and have a bias going back to colonization so I am possibly too ethnocentric in my emotions. I am also impressed with the courage of Dr Jamal Rifi who is not swayed by the pressures of the twisted interpretation of the extreme Muslim radicals who interpret the religious teachings of the Koran...I remember the writings of the Old Testament, have read the Koran, and other diametrically opposed theological documents and at the end of the day we are all suffering from the interpretation of the original message by those who wanted control for their own self serving satisfaction... Sorry but I am over Religion for the sake of Religion...lets get back to humanity, respect thy neighbor, and get along with each other for the sake of humanity. Sorry, I forgot, and then their were politicians! I also wish to acknowledge all those other people in Australia, whatever generation and ethnicity, who care and have contributed to our Australia.
