Who here are fans of youth Ugandan dance group Ghetto Kids??? If you will remember, the Ghetto Kids recently became famous via the Internet for their skilled dance moves to artist Eddy Kenzos hits. This week, the group spoke with the media about what motivates them, and with almost all of the group members hailing from the slums of Kampala, their new fame has empowered them to not only return to school but secure housing for their beloved family members. Alex Sempija said about his life before the group, [Before] my life was bad, because I would go on the street and start to beg,” Alex said, “and if I [didnt] get someone who gave me money, I [would] go to the rubbish and start to check something for eating.” Watch how their lives have been transformed by their dancing talent here:
