Who in MD still actually pays for their music? Why or why - TopicsExpress

Who in MD still actually pays for their music? Why or why not? I saw a comment recently that said something like I dont pay for music because I dont have to and that it was basically pointless. and it sort of made me wonder who all has this same sentiment. (Edit: My official stance, as a musician, I feel like although music is readily available for free, if an artist that you truly like requests that you pay for their music, pay for it. Because your contributions DIRECTLY affects their ability to continue to create. For a person to feel as though they are entitled to an artists music [which is a relatively new concept thanks to the internet] is counterproductive to the structure of ART and the music industry itself. While I am not innocent of downloading music, 9 times out of 10, I will purchase an album, even sometimes more than once, as sort of a VOTE to let the artist and the record label they are employed by know that they are being heard. If an artist is under the impression that he/she is not being heard, what is the incentive to create on a commercial level? They will almost surely fade into obscurity. Just my humble opinion.)
