Who knew Wildflowers, Te Mata Peak / Te Mata Park, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand A bit of a flower theme developing for the weekend.... Those of you that follow me will know that I visit Te Mata Peak quite often, and I have definitely been up there at this time of year over the last few years.... but I have never seen these wildflowers blooming on the slopes of the peak before. This morning I set out to find some of them to photograph (they are not near the side of the road in any numbers), so I walked north down along the ridge from the carpark for about 20 minutes and found this nicely positioned field of flowers. Then I just had to walk back up along the ridge you can see in the right of this photo to get back to the car. D800, f8, 1/40sec, ISO100, 14mm Processed and cropped in LR5
