Who monitors price creep in Bali? All items in my local Minimart have just gone up another 500. Cigarettes went up this year from 14,000 to 17,000. Two weeks ago, they were 17,500. Today, 18,000. Even the non-gouging, non-convenience stores keep raising prices with astonishing frequency. Why? The rises are way above cost increases. Simple greed? Or are there darker economic forces at work here now?
