Who said revolutionaries have no fun or soul? Listen to this - TopicsExpress

Who said revolutionaries have no fun or soul? Listen to this track dedicated to the great Malcolm X sang by the revolutionary woman known as Mama Africa a.k.a Miriam Makeba. The song was originally written by her daughter Bongi who I think was the daughter she had with another revolutionary Kwame Ture a.k.a. Stokely Carmichael. I believe the backing band were the Black Panthers but I am not sure who the male vocal in this song is. If you do, please enlighten us and tell us what else you know. In the meantime sample this tune with some of the lyrics I have transcribed below. Everybody seems to be preaching revolution But no one ever seems to show appreciation For the man who brought about a new generation For the man who created a new black nation Do you remember Malcolm Do you remember Malcolm Yeah brother Malcolm Yeah he was a great man When he tried to take the people away from oppression From day to day Malcolm lived for liberation Till that man with the gun took away his devotion And left his wife and kids without protection... This is just an awesome song full of funk and real catchy and real and nothing like the shit a lot of un revolutionary rap and hip hop artists are churning out to keep the black nation in perpetual subjugation. Big up all the revolutionary musicians. Big up to the revolutionary writers. Big up to the revolutionary artists, scriptwriters, sculptors, politicians, activists, actors, etc. Revolution is the only solution. Keep supporting Black Philosophy and lets keep this page revolutionary. Revolutionary Love! youtu.be/vzy42Imve5M
