Thats what happened to four of our moms In Dallas, Texas, Saturday. Open Carry Texas, a radical group wanting to condition Texans to seeing fellow citizens walk around with rifles and shotguns, gathered in restaurant parking lot, intimidating not only our moms, but every single patron of the restaurant. There was nothing educational about their parking lot rally. It was pure bullying. Here’s what they emailed us: People are getting used to seeing and being around guns and police have come to accept it and dont even question us anymore. What we are doing is working and society is coming to view the sight of military style rifles in public as just another normal thing. Isnt that a good thing? What do you think? Is it a “good thing” that police and families in our communities might come to accept heavily armed people as part of everyday life in America? I bet we agree: it’s a terrible thing. Just like bullying unarmed moms meeting for lunch, with a heavily armed, threatening group of 40 people. They didnt scare us. We won’t back down. We won’t stop demanding action to make our families and communities safer. We will always stand up to bullies like Open Carry Texas. Even when they wave their guns at us, even when they surround our meetings and attempt to intimidate us, we’ll be here. To do that, we need your help.
