Who was the father (s) of President Barack Obama (or Barack - TopicsExpress

Who was the father (s) of President Barack Obama (or Barack Hussein Obama)? And what can you learn from President Barack Obamas life ? Mr. Barack Obama Sir., the father of President Barack Obama, was born in Kenya with a profession of herding goats. While studying at the University of Hawaii in Manoa, he met fellow student Ann Dunham (the Presidents mother), and they married on February 2, 1961. President Barack Obama was born just six months later. When the President was still an infant, his father Obama Sr. relocated to Massachusetts to attend Harvard University, pursuing a Ph.D. The Presidents parents officially separated several months later and ultimately divorced in March 1964, when the President was only 2. In 1965, his father returned to his hometown, Kenya. The Presidents mother, Ann Dunham, then married Lolo Soetoro, an East–West Center student from Indonesia. In 1966, the family moved to Jakarta, Indonesia. Caring about the Presidents safety and education (many incidents happened in Indonesia), his mother decided to send him to Hawaii, where the President lived with his maternal grandparents. Surprisingly, in 1971, the original father of the President, Mr. Obama Sir., had a short visit to Hawaii where the President could realize his father once again. Unfortunately, Mr. Obama Sir. later on was struck by a serious car accident in 1981 resulting in his loss of two legs. Only one year later, 1982, Obama Sr. was involved in another car accident while traveling in Nairobi. This time, however, the crash was fatal that he died on November 24, 1982, when the President was 21 years old. The fatherless life of the President drove him into countless challenges, ranged from lacking family comforts to psychological impacts. The President once said that, At the time of his death, my father remained a myth to me, Obama later said, both more and less than a man. You can imagine the life of a black man pressured by the environment of racial discrimination and the inaccessibility to parental comfort, who later on became the President of the worlds most powerful country in the contemporary era !
