Who will the Jets draft in this upcoming 2014 NFL draft? what If - TopicsExpress

Who will the Jets draft in this upcoming 2014 NFL draft? what If the Jets are not totally sold on Geno Smith? Or just feel the need to draft another QB who they love and cannot pass up on.. Another Tom Brady by Draft comparison so to speak.. a guy scouts say everyone should steer clear of,.... because of... what would our division look like had the Patriots done so? I heard a fan in another group say that the Jets need to take the chains off of Geno and let him be himself, they felt the last few games of the season, thats who Geno was. Fair observation...But still, the only reason why teams who have Quarterbacks still draft one is no mystery,.. why did Denver waste a pick two years in a row on a QB in the draft after signing Manning? And why the New England Patriots didnt? In-fact, the only guy backing up Tom Brady is Ryan Mallet.. both quarterbacks are making the final turn so to speak, even though they have gas left in the tank, one more major injury does to Brady what it did to Bledsoe.. If Peyton is able to beat Seattle, he may try for a third and final run, but who can really see beyond 2015? what more will there be to accomplish in the sport? But then there are teams, like the 49ers, Sea-hawks and Redskins who keep a fresh rotation of young QBs... The Redskins notably drafting Cousins the same year they drafted Griffin, who started over Rex Grossman when RG3 went down.. and what about Philly and all of the guys theyve drafted or signed since McNabb? They probably had more QBs in the last ten years than any NFL team.. maybe Im exaggerating but most recently.. within that time there was Feeley, Detmer, McMahon, (not Jim) Garcia, then Feeley again, Kolb, Vick, Then Young briefly, and then there was Vick and now Foles, with Barkley waiting in the wings.. I would say the eagles have been busy, How much of this has hurt them in other areas? what did they get for Kolb? wasnt he hot for a grief minute ( NO TYPO) just like Flynn?.. and will likely never start for another NFL team again. Someone here is going to tell me we need to give Geno a chance and sign a veteran... but that isnt what this post is about... who besides the guy hired to do this job has time to scout every single prospect at the college Quarterback position? my guess would be only those who are bored with nothing else to do and those who get paid to do it.. we all get to hear of those guys who make noise in college , Like Bridgewater, Manziel or Marcus Mariota...but what about the others? The year 2000 has changed the lives of every team who passed up on #12 for the New England Patriots, Even though many teams will reach far beyond what they should, everyone who scouts a QB will due their due diligence in spite of the 2000 NFL draft ( boy would I love to hear all the boos he got from Patriots fans when his name was called). When the New York Jets are about to pick in the 4th or 5th round this year and you hear: WITH THE 142ND PICK OF THE 2014 NFL DRAFT, THE NEW YORK JETS SELECT QB LOGAN THOMAS DONT BE SHOCKED! while this might not make a bit of since to you and I, it could mean the difference between a legitimate starter or a viable back up and at worst case a bargaining chip for future consideration.. I dont believe for one minute the Jets believe Matts Simms can lead us to a title. despite what many of you saw at camp and believe, Geno played poorly enough to lose his job at times but didnt. with Sanchez being hurt, Simms had his shot at getting reps,.. The only praise he got from David Lee was the rocket launcher connected to his shoulder... The news of the Jets bringing in QB jimmy Garoppolo to talk to should surprise no-one.. We wont be the only team he is scouted by, btw he is actually some teams top 5 QB in all of the draft! maybe were one of those teams..lol... How many of you want to bet the Patriots will be selecting a QB in this upcoming draft? now why would they do a thing like that when they still have Brady for a couple more years? well maybe not, but Im willing to bet they will anyway. The bottom line is this, unless your team has no issues at the QB position at all, you should always be looking to get a player your organization is high on regardless of your needs. Teams who are healthy financially can always trade players for draft picks and even other players. any move the Jets make should be considered one of the many that are needed to build a winning franchise, one that has stability, depth and most of all a competitive spirit! Its going to take a team effort to win a championship. We will be counting on this years draft, as well as free agency for our future to have promise. GO JETS!
