Who would like to live in a city that had a lowest priority initiative for Marijuana possession? Essentially Marijuana remains illegal, but the City Council directs the Denton Police to make it a low priority. This simple act, can have a very positive influence on a community. Police officers have more time to pursue real crime, court dockets are opened up, probation and parole officers can focus on serious offender rehabilitation - there are other benefits too.
