John Mackeys philosophy “Conscious Capitalism” has played a significant role in Whole Foods reputation and success. Whole Foods has proven to be a leader in the market. In fact, it is a fortune 500 company. According to CNN Money 2013, Whole Foods Market has been ranked 232 out of 500. In addition, Fortune 500 ranked Whole Foods #10 of the best Companies to Work for in 2013. It has been on the top “100 Best Companies to Work” for since 1998. It currently has more than 65,000 employees. Employees receive 100% health-care coverage, subsidized gym membership, an equitable pay structure and so much more. Whole Foods considers their customers the most important stakeholders in their business. They create inviting store environments, provide customers with high quality products, extraordinary customer service, competitive prices, and they go through many lengths to satisfy and meet each and every individuals needs. They are known for creating an empowering work environment for their employees. They allow their employees to be creative the company seeks opportunities for growth and they take responsibility for their happiness their success and failures. Employees work in teams and solving problems together and appreciating each members contributions. Whole Foods give their members the right to access information that could potentially affect your job. They have access to record financial records at any point and time.
