Whos for (yet) another Brit zombie film, this time out starring Paddy the Vet from Emmerdale Farm? No? Not tempted? Not at all? Well, maybe its the wisest approach, because its not one I can particularly recommend. In a last ditch attempt to patch up their marriage, great lummox Alex (Paddy the Vet) and his estranged wife Meg (Joanne Mitchell) go to spend a weekend at a cottage in the middle of nowhere. Alex drinks gallons of wine, Meg does a career by constantly talking on her mobile. Then - frankly not a moment too soon - she goes for a jog and is bitten by a zombie. The rest of the plot is taken up with Alex drinking yet more wine, Meg turning into one of the carnivorous undead and - weirdly - some guy from Shameless (Nicky Evans) showing up and being eaten alive. Its low budget, tries hard to do character without succeeding and doesnt have anything particularly new to add to the already over-stuffed genre. The Yorkshire countryside is appealing and decently shot, but its hard to believe that the Paddy the Vet (lumbering, bald, dumb) and Mitchell (tiny, aggressive, dumb) are a couple; until, that is, you discover that they actually are off-screen as well...
