This has forced many Muslim families to leave everything and try to escape Leaked reports have shown that there has been a systematic oppression of Muslims in Myanmar - the attacks in 2012 are just an escalation of a continued policy of persecution and oppression. The Rohingya Muslims have never been granted citizenship and a 1982 law excluded them from the list of officially-recognised minorities. With over 100,000 Muslims being forced to flee their homes & live in refugee camps, why is the international community so silent? Why isn’t more being said about the extremist Buddhists who have been burning homes and murdering children? What makes matters even worse is that Myanmar’s Nobel Peace Prize winner, Aung San Suu Kyi, has done very little to speak out or challenge the oppression of Rohingya Muslims - leaving many of her supporters shocked at her silence In a BBC interview when asked about Human Rights Watch’s report, which accused the government of ethnic cleansing, Ms Suu Kyi dismissed the report saying that “What the world needs to understand (is) that the fear is not just on the side of the Muslims, but on the side of the Buddhists as well.” She went on to suggest that the violence was caused by Buddhists’ fear of what she calls “global Muslim power”, saying: “You, I think, will accept that there is a perception that Muslim power, global Muslim power, is very great and certainly that is the perception in many parts of the world, and in our country too.” pls duwa for muslims being opperesed in any part of the world. may allah (swt) blessed them with his mercy listening our duwa. iwy for peace n humanityl
