Why Filipinos love basketball... 1) Barker mentality - it allows them to be in on the action without doing the action... (reliance on the star player... who happens to be imported)... 2) Masochism - there is nothing like losing all the time... 3) American wannabes - basketball is after all an American sport... 4) Laziness - basketball is a sport for the lazy... when you are tired, slow down your play, pass the ball, call a time out, get fouled, foul somebody, call a time out, or ask to be replaced... Lazy people cannot thrive in individual sports... The team can always take the slack... 5) Delusion and denial - we think we can win in a sport where height is the chief advantage... 6) Cheerleader mentality - we simply like to cheer for a team (tennis and golf fans have to be quiet) 7) {feel free to add more...}
