Why I Need The Eagles Nest “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will Itrust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and seethe reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. Psalm 91:1-10. In this series of ‘Nest – The Palace Place of Eagles’ I will take you into scriptural understanding of ‘Why I Need The Eagles Nest’ Number One: You cannot dwell in the presence of God and not be a High Flyer. Eagles operates with an altitude of 10,000 feet above ground, but there landing on ground can be unpredictable. At 10, 000 feet, you will never find another bird. If you find another bird, it has to be an eagle. An eagle doesn’t mingle around with the pigeons and chickens. Pigeons and chickensscavenge on the ground and grumble and complain all day long. Eagles do not. They fly and make less noise waiting for opportunities to strike their next prey or glide with the current of the storm. The Psalmist confirms and affirms the power of the hill when he said ‘I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.Psalm 121:1. A high flier is a man who loves challenges, a man who loves responsibilitiesbecause in lifes responsibilities are the bedrock of great achievement. A high flyer is a problem solver; they love to take challenges as the eagle does even in the midst of storm. Rev 12:14 Number Two: The Eagles Nest teaches us to be Tenacious. Men and brethren, when you can’t track God you must trust Him. “I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust” The Psalmist knows with assurance that he may not know anything about the future but he knows that the Boss at the top knows the direction. Trusting God is to doubt your doubts, refusing to listen to the voice that combines confusion. Eagles are the only bird who loves to dance in the midst of the storm. Isaiah 40:30-31, Luke 21: 25-26, Psalm 73:26. When other birds fly away from the storm with fear, an eagle spreads its mighty wings and uses the current to soar to greater heights. The eagle takes advantage of the very storm that lesser birds fear and head for cover. Eagles are believers believe that what happen to you isnot what matters but what happened in you because of what happened to you. For “Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence” t does not matter how long yoursituation had lasted, it is never going to be everlasting because change is coming. Any road without obstacle surely will lead you nowhere. Number Three: The Eagles Nest is a place to believe. “His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.” Great faith is the product of great fight and faith does not deny fact; it changes it. The eagle knows the storm is there, he knows there are enemies who are out to kill him John 10:10. Eagles are full of life but when the eagles reach the age of 30, their physical body condition deteriorates fast making it difficult for them to survive but they never give up living. You must not die without living first. Number Four: The Eagles Nest teaches us to be fearless. “Thou shalt not be afraid for theterror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day” Boy oh boy, an Eagle will never surrender to the size or strength of its prey. It will always give a fight to win its prey or regain its territory. No matter what the size of that person or what weapon is against you. Eagles are believers who know the mathematics of confronting their confrontations, face your problems heard-on because there is a promotion in the shellof the problem. Have you been in a place where suddenly you gain boldness to stand against your oppressor? That is what I am talking about. It wouldn’t even dawn on youto be afraid because your instinct is to protect that which you love and cherish.
