Why I think that the new Ministry of Foreign Affairs Building should named after Hon Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo,former Foreign Affairs Minister. The current location of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs used to be the location of the International Students Hostel.The International Students Hostel was a flagship Hostel built by the Nkrumah administration to help in the training and capacity building of most Pan Africans and young Africans engaged in the Liberation struggle of the Continent. It is therefore sad that under the Kuffour administration,that Heritage Site was destroyed and the land shared among the middle class and those close to Former President Kuffour. It is even more worrying when the sharing of the SPOILS OF WAR happened when the Hon Nana Addo was the Foreign Affairs Minister. According to the Special Aide and Relation of Hon Nana Addo,Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko,when Nana was given the share of the land,he refused it,that is all that we were told Nana did as a Patriot and someone desirous of protecting State property if he becomes the President. What it means is that Nana Addo can do a lot to protect the property of the State,yes,he protected the International Students Hostel lands by refusing to take his SHARE of the SPOILS. At Hon Martin Amidu has shown rather recently that we can all do better in protecting the PROPERTY OF THE STATE. Well,when the late President John Evans Fiifi Attah Mills took over as President of Ghana in 2009,he quickly stopped the sharing and returned the land to the State. To the GLORY OF GOD,the said land now has the New Building on it. But for late President Mills,we would have lost that land to individuals.No record of Hon Nana Addo protesting the sharing. It is for this single ACT OF PATRIOTISM that I humbly appeal to President John Dramani Mahama to name that building after Hon Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo,former Foreign Affairs Minister under whose tenure the sharing took place. #ORDER OF THE SHARING DIVISION.
