|| Why Semper Fi? || We’re asking our Facebook fans for help in identifying recruits currently in training or on their way to Parris Island who have interesting stories about how or why they chose to challenge themselves in hopes of becoming Marines. If selected, we’ll feature them in an article. Recruits have come from all walks of life before stepping on Parris Island’s yellow footprints. Some have turned down prestigious careers or wealth to wear the Marine Corps uniform. Others have lost 100+ pounds or defeated cancer. Some are caring on a long family legacy of Marines, while occasionally twins or triplets will enlist together. These are the types of stories we want to tell. E-mail your ideas to ParrisIslandFacebook+Recruit@gmail. Include the recruit’s full name as well as his or her unit (platoon/company), arrival date and/or expected graduation day. Please submit ideas at least two weeks prior to graduation. Do not send photos or other file attachments when e-mailing ideas. We may contact you for additional information, but due to the potential volume of ideas that may be submitted, we can neither guarantee your idea will be used, nor that you will receive any return correspondence from us.
