Why Why was it all a lie Why give or even try The pain it gnaws the soul Effects so great to take its toll It’s in the mind before the sleep And there again when daylight creeps The torture can’t be put aside A place so deep where it resides Some simply live to cause such pain As if the hurt removes their shame But cause it does a hardened soul With heart of stone and black as coal No more the giving of the hand Or trying just to understand The tears have nearly dried you see Replaced by pure uncertainty But when alone and feeling weak A tear still drains off reddened cheek The mind so frail, it asks to die The only question left is why…. S A Lies They looked into your eyes Without a flinch they tell the lies Justified by their own needs Fulfilling nature of the greed They flirt the better to receive The hearts desire for what they please Pretending that they don’t know They sell themselves, the worn out pro The grifters, they take everything From gifts of gold and diamond ring To lavish them with all that’s fine Until replaced by next in line So brutal when they sever ties To break the heart with hurtful lies I hope someday the pain will fade The shattered emptiness that enslaves S A
