Why are Taxpayers Associations given special privileges to serve on advisory committees of so many of our public funds? They arent some sort of neutral public agency, they are ideological organizations committed to dismantling the public sector. I get the politics of it for passing bonds and tax increases, but I wish we would stop legitimating these deeply partisan organizations- or include advocates for high quality public services as readily as we do these proto-Tea Party groups.
