Why are politicians entitled to such perks in housing and other benefits while other Canadian workers are not? Many Nova Scotians work more than 40 km from home even in other provinces and pay rent. One may make a one time income tax deduction for moving expenses...on their own after that. It is time to abolish these claims/benefits after all they took the offer on their own volition. I commuted over 80km daily for my teaching positions. StFX tried to convince me to sell my house and move to Antigonish when I did not have tenure. To whose benefit I say. STOP this crazy nonsense under the guise of serving Canada.
