Why become a Therapist Who Specializes in Transgender Care? I get calls from transgender people all over the country and even the world. They have no therapists in their areas and need to get counseling through phone or Skype. Sometimes this works well, but occasionally people need more in-depth therapy, which requires a therapist who specializes in transgender care right there on the spot. That is why I started the International Transgender Certification Association. We need more trained counselors. We also need specialists – those people who are not therapists but want to help transgender people in distress. ITCA will train Specialists to provide crisis intervention, group counseling, and other supportive services in an ethical and professional manner.
