Why deportation is the best option for the Yoruba - TopicsExpress

Why deportation is the best option for the Yoruba government: Over the heads of locally elected people, Federal Government of Nigeria, hundreds of miles away in Abuja, controls 90 per cent of public expenditure. It takes Yoruba revenues from: Company income Tax; Import Duties; Export Duties; Excise Duties; Petroleum profit tax; Mining Rents and Royalties; Pipeline Licenses and Fees; and Value Added Tax (VAT) and retained 90 per cent for itself with only 10 per cent going back to Yorubaland in form of monthly allocations. How do we expect the Yoruba government to cater for immigrants from other nations particularly the Igbo, Hausa/Fulani, Niger and Chad Republics? The best option would be to deport mostly criminals who have nothing doing in Yorubaland. If the Igbo are not happy about the deportation, they have the best of time now to support #TrueFederalism so that Yoruba government would be able to tax and spend their taxes. Keeping criminal immigrants in our prisons is expensive that is why we feed them once a day instead of three times. We can only do much more if we have a Yoruba Autonomous Region with an elected Yoruba Prime Minister who will be responsible for the management of the wealth and resources of the Yoruba people. With a Yoruba Autonomous Region, we can extend a hand of friendship to immigrants from other African ethnic nations like the Igbo to come and live, work and get education in Yorubaland and provide for their social welfare. It is imperative the Igbo support our demand for True Federalism now that their friend Mr Jonathan’s the Unitary President of Nigeria. Taking Governor Fashola to court or using President Jonathan against him will over heat the politics...
