Why do people like Tinkerbell? She is very pretty and curvacious...but I honestly dont see the appeal...when most people think of Tinkerbell they think of the Disney version of her..which is understandable because she is an icon for them..you see her in the beginning of every movie...but of what I have seen and I have even read the book..she is the image of pure jealousy and hate. Is she good or loyal? Very questionable, in my opinion. Theres no doubt that she loves Peter Pan. But this same emotion drives her completely out of control in every other way. Shes possessive, violent and moody when it comes to anyone or anything that comes between her and Peter. Without thinking she encourages the Lost Boys to attack and kill Wendy. She even betrays Peter to Captain Hook, hoping that Wendy might suffer as a result. In the end, yes, she saves Peters life, but dont forget that she was the one who put him in danger in the first place. In the book she also drinks the poison for him risking her own life...but also through out the book she cusses out Wendy..a lot..I have read somewhere..and it may have even been in the book..that fairies can only have one strong emotion at a time..so when she picks on Wendy..she cant really feel bad for it.. So I basically see her as a mean little shit...and not as the image Disney puts out. People may think she only acts that way because she truly loves Peter...but if that was the case..then she wouldnt have helped Captain Hook. Even Peter Pan is a brat..he kills people for fun..and kills the Lost Boys when he thinks they are growing up. I think what bothers me the most is the images being put out of these characters...which makes them look like rays of sunshine...when they are not. Everyone is entitled to their opinion..Im just trying to understand others.
