Why do we need a Black United Front in Pine Bluff? Consider this: Several months ago I, in my official capacity as local N.O.I. Rep. was privy to attend a meeting to discuss racism and discrimination by an agency operating in Jefferson County on your and my tax dollars. At this meeting was Jack Foster, State Representatives of the NAACP, a state lawmaker (other leaders I wont mention for obvious reasons) and a group of blacks who had personally been discriminated against, disrespected, fired etc .and these people came to the meeting with hard core evidence. The person behind their mistreatment was a Caucasian. What was interesting was how the blacks related to this person and fear them as if they were God. I mentioned to the NAACP President and his staff that we really needed to be teaching black people how to fight for their rights rather than running throughout the state trying to fight all these battles he agreed. Now at this meeting a plan was mentioned to deal with this agency and this corruption that being carried out with the aid of your and my tax dollars. To make a long story short the issue has been muted after.....I have been in numerous meetings like this discussing such issues with blacks in leadership who are afraid to stand along and so this group will serve as a advocacy and watchdog group for the black community and will have leadership representing of all sectors of our community. For several years in meeting blacks in religion and politic have always wanted such a group and now is the time that we make it happen. I realize that many of the leaders in our community are divided and resentful over things that happened 10, 20 30 years ago. Well, lets atone for our wrong to each other and reconcile so we can put ourselves in the best position to work together for the benefit of our people who are suffering and having their ignorance exploited by the enemy of all of us.
