Why do we pray: Ill give you everything, all my heart, all my life is yours! But when it comes to governing our live by His written instructions for Holy and Righteous living, suddenly that is bondage, legalism and works-based salvation? Matthew 15:3-9 NASB And He answered and said to them, Why do you yourselves transgress the commandment of God for the sake of your tradition? For God said, Honor your father and mother , and, He who speaks evil of father or mother is to be put to death . But you say, Whoever says to his father or mother, Whatever I have that would help you has been given to God, he is not to honor his father or his mother . And by this you invalidated the word of God for the sake of your tradition. You hypocrites, rightly did Isaiah prophesy of you: This people honors M e with their lips , But their heart is far away from Me . But in vain do they worship Me , Teaching as doctrines the precepts of men . 1 Peter 1:13-16 NASB Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, You shall be holy , for I am holy . The Apostles dont quote scripture out of context... where is it written, you shall be holy, for I am holy.? Do you know? Have you studied it and looked it up? Leviticus 11:43-47 NASB Do not render yourselves detestable through any of the swarming things that swarm; and you shall not make yourselves unclean with them so that you become unclean. For I am the Lord your God. Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am holy. And you shall not make yourselves unclean with any of the swarming things that swarm on the earth. For I am the Lord who brought you up from the land of Egypt to be your God; thus you shall be holy, for I am holy. This is the law regarding the animal and the bird, and every living thing that moves in the waters and everything that swarms on the earth, to make a distinction between the unclean and the clean, and between the edible creature and the creature which is not to be eaten. Dont get caught up in theology or churchianity! The Old Testament is the New Testament concealed, the New Testament is the Old Testament revealed! There is 1 Bible. Not 2 testaments! The OT/NT page dividers are MANMADE ADDITIONS TO THE BIBLE. They are NOT inspired scripture. Friends and loved ones, Pray, study and Seek His Face! He has a life of abundance in store for you, but not outside of His guidelines of scripture. Dont conform to church any longer, be transformed by His Word and with the guidance of the Holy Spirit! Pride is concerned with who is right.. humility is concerned with getting it right (even if that means admitting we once got it wrong). Be blessed in your diligent studies everyone!
