Why do you diet? In my experience I have found one thing in common with most people that go on diets, they dont trust themselves. Most dieters need black and whites rules to follow when trying to lose weight or gain muscle. They need something that specifically says yes eat this and no dont eat that. Why? What keeps you in line with these rules? Nobody is forcing you do comply. Nobody is threatening your life if you eat a cupcake. You are the one deciding to eat right or to not. No different than if you didnt have all these rules. So why do you need them? Why cant you just eat healthy, have some treats from time to time, and move on? Lack of self trust hold us back. Without a hard line drawn in the sand you may feel that you will eat everything in sight and blow up like a balloon. Its scary, I know! But is there an easier way to eat right and not have rules? Yes! You must first learn to trust yourself and know that YOU have the POWER all the times! Every opportunity you have to make a bad choice, you also have an opportunity to make a good choice. Next time you go out to eat, know ahead of time exactly what you are going to order and DO IT. Knowing that your going to order a salad or grilled fish and veggies ahead of time takes away the temptation and stress of looking at a menu of fattening unhealthy foods. This is a practice and can be super hard to do, but its a baby step in learning to trust yourself.
