Why do you suppose this is the case? How about that many Tea Party members, supporters or sympathizers are Bible reading Christians who havent been fooled by the theories of evolution and Global Warming? A student of the Bible is typically interested in such topics, therefore, he/she will be better informed than their liberal counterpart who shuns Bible knowledge. And, I might add, the article below indicates that university professors can be very narrow in their associations, limiting their ability to have an understanding of how ordinary, everyday people think.
