Why does this happen ?I pray only a small percentage of most college division one fans act this way But even a small percentage is too many. It is a game, yes just a sporting event where some very young athletes play their hearts out no matter what color their jerseys are. We should cheer on all these young people and stop talking negative and going on social media to kick them when they are down. A school my daughter was considering attending had a Facebook page for incoming Freshman that she joined and when she made the comment that she was also considering UK the responses she got from I hope a small percentage of fans from that school posted very ugly posts and videos of their hate for UK. It had a major impact on her college choice. When I attended a final 4 when Michigan beat us I was so verbally abused by some Michigan fans I was horrified about my safety. Years ago when I was in the UK band and we are at an LSU away game LSU fans jumped over fences to beat up some of our band members. Sadly there are many more stories I am sure others could share. Some UK folks seem to forget Pitino is the one who rescued us from a mess and helped open the door for a person like Cal to want to be at UK. We also forget that coaches and players are very imperfect people just like all of us. I apologize to Louisville for the ugliness some UK fans chose to show your fans and players. I also apologize to all players with a wide variety of colors of jerseys for the fans that dont choose to respect the hard work you put into making the NCAA tournament. I also pray that that we all can keep perspective about competitive sports from t ball to the pros and celebrate hard work and determination and keep away the uglies. So so sad
