Why has the phrase/action of Hands Up, Dont Shoot become the iconic phrase of all the police vs. Young black men protests...when not one of the victims they are representing put their hands up to cooperate in the first place ??? Im not agreeing or disagreeing... I just really dont understand the rationale - the whole issue began because the victims did NOT cooperate w police (whether the police were right or wrong to stop them) ... Had they actually done the Hands up dont shoot at that time maybe things would have gone differently...maybe not, but id think cooperating would be a good start, esp if you believe you are being targeted for race, gender or whatever reason...
