Why is METAL GEAR SOLID HD COLLECTION an awesome BANG for the BUCK? I’m gonna give y’all 5 SOLID (pun intended) reasons to acquire the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection. 1. Exceptional Franchise Metal Gear is, in my opinion, a genre defining franchise. If I say “Adventure”, you may reply Uncharted. “Open World”, easy one… Grand Theft Auto. “Stealth Action”… I say Metal Gear Solid. This is not to say that other franchises, in the likes of Splinter Cell and Hitman, have not had any impact whatsoever on the genre. Metal Gear, however, is clearly something else. It has a universe of its own, that demands to be experienced. Exceptional storytelling, unique gameplay, overall BADASS, often cheesy and at times, outright absurd, the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is sure to entertain. 2. HD Remastered I remember Metal Gear Solid 3 being one of the best looking games I played on the Playstation 2. To be honest, the HD version of MGS 3 is ridiculously impressive. While it may not be on par with the latest PS3 games from a graphical standpoint, MGS 3 does hold its own. For those who didn’t get to play MGS Peace Walker, you are in for a treat. 3. Huge Replay Value Tired of purchasing expensive games that you end up completing in a couple of hours? Well, with MGS 2: Sons of Liberty, MGS 3: Subsistence and MGS: Peace Walker, you will have quite a lot of hours to spend trying to complete those games and acquire the trophies. Peace Walker, on its own, offers a LOT of replay value, not only in terms of main missions but also side ops and extra ops… let alone, its RPG elements incorporated within the game to help you build your base of operations and…your own nuclear-capable bipedal tank! 4. GEAR UP (Pun intended…again) for THE PHANTOM PAIN! MGS V The Phantom Pain is the latest Metal Gear game under development that will most probably be released in 2015. To be honest, this is one of the best looking and most promising game I have seen so far. You could consider the HD Collection as a splendid prologue before the next installment of the franchise.
